Another Updaate

Here I am once again being told by the team that I am approaching my last days, and every day that I continue to live is a miracle. I am going to try to prove them wrong, but each time I come closer to the end. The sad thing about this time is that I may not even leave the hospital if I continue to fight. And of course leaving the hospital is the same as me giving up. Right now I am in the ICU. The first goal is to make it back to the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit as soon as possible. At this point, it is simply the matter of a bed opening up. Just a few weeks ago there were a lot of empty beds; now every one is filled. The amount of weakness in my body is incredible, I get very little sleep, and I am extremely gross.

Nevertheless I thank God for each day extra and each day alive with my wife.

God bless,
Nathan

  9. I know it seems tough, but you got to keep fighting this mess. You have been proving these doctors wrong for quite a long while now. I am sure you have a whole lot more fight in you, brother. I will continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
I want to call you, but I have no idea when the best time would be. Once you start to recover, I will try and reach you.

  10. Hey bro, thanks for keeping us updated. Sorry to hear that things aren't looking better, but am relieved that you are steadfast in your faith even in the face of such pain and suffering.

Last week, the pastor of my old church preached a sermon about what we can expect in heaven when we get there. It was so fun listening to and just thought it might lift your spirits too.

    All the best,
    Roger

2 Cor 5: 6-8 "Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord."
